Our story starts in 2016 when a group of students of LUT had an idea to create a hearing aid application that would help people with a hearing loss hear better.
This idea was developed as a business idea in the Summer LaunchPad -event organized by LutES (Lappeenranta university of technology Entrepreneurship Society). Later on, members of the group participated in competitions and received awards. Biggest recognition was received for winning the annual Willi Idea -competition (click here for results in Finnish). The idea was then developed to be a research project and successfully applied for funding from the public funder Tekes (currently known as Business Finland) under LUT. The length of the project may continue until 2018.
Currently the team consists of six members, who shortly and in general are: three programmers, one designer and two business / marketing persons. The team is supervised by LUT staff along with a steering group for the project. In addition, a support group of specialists have joined the team for advisory.
All in all, the quest is ongoing. The team is focusing on the creation and development of the application, distribution and user acquisition of the application. The overall goal is to provide the application to users in the end of the project and hopefully continue the quest. The team is continuously looking for partners to collaborate with during this project.
